Movie Premiere Cookies & Yet Another Giveaway
Well, I’ve finally managed to get up my second post in one week…something that I haven’t achieved in a while! As I said in the last post I recently did a huge cookie order for a movie premiere here in Hollywood. The movie was, The American Mall, and it premieres on MTV August 11th. This was quite an exciting order for me since it was 500 cookies and my largest order to date. This was the first time that I tried doing a sugar cookie with a printer on image too. This is definitely a cool technique that I have wanted to try for a while. I have lots of ideas for future cookies and can’t wait to share them with you! But for now, here are some photos of the LONG process…500 sounds like a large number until you actually produce and decorate them and then the number seems even larger!!!
Here are some photos of the process so you can get an idea of how the cookies were made. Hopefully within this next month I will be making a video on sugar cookies with all my tips and techniques, so if you don’t understand everything right now hold on and you will!
Now for the edible frosting sheets. First I printed the custom logos on the frosting sheets and then all 500 have to be hand cut to have the logo fit just right on the custom cookies.
Then I adhered the frosting sheets while the cookies were still a little wet and finally piped a border of royal icing on the edges and dipped them in sugar.
And that was just one shot of one of the boxes full of cookies…believe me when I say that there were a lot of cookies!
Now for the giveaway! The wonderful people from Beau-Coup decided to give one of my readers a free $50 gift card to their wonderful online store. They have the most adorable favors and gifts for your next bridesmaid, baby shower, birthday or wedding event. All you have to do to be entered into the drawing is to check out their website and then leave me a comment telling me what your favorite item they are selling is. The contest will end at midnight on Friday. Can’t wait to here your responses!

What a great site…I love the mini classic gumball machines – so cute!!
I really like all the favors and gift ideas on this website. My favortie was the mini gumball dispensers for birthday parties. Great idea!
Did you have a cookie cutter made to cut out the dough, or did you do it all free hand?
That is a lot of cookies!
No freehanding here…I got the cookie cutter custom made for the event!
What an absolutely exciting opportunity for you! The cookies look great, and I bet the premiere was fun!
Wow, the cookies look excellent! Well done.
As for the Beau-Coup website: I’m in the middle of planning a bridal shower for a friend… I really loved the Polka Dot Favor Boxes. Those would be perfect for the occasion!
WOW! 500 cookies! I made 50 cupcakes one time and I thought that was a HUGE order. LOL. As for beaucoup giveaway: I was in a wedding and “bride” got the Personalized cosmetic bags for her bridesmaids. Mine has the little red heart zipper pull. I LOVE IT. If I win I’ll have to get her one b/c she forgot to get one for herself! Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
Clara @ iheartcuppycakes!

Beau Coup ended up having some of the favors I was looking for! I love the beach-themed items, especially the cookie cutter sets and the cute little suitcase tins! Oh, maybe I’ll get a few of those items as cute little gifts for my friends when we go on vacation next month!
That is a lot of cookies!
There is a lot of great stuff on Beau Coup. I think I like the mini-gumball machine favors the best though. Now I just need to think of a way to use them.
My hand aches just thinking about piping all of that icing!
And the diamond ring paper weight would be a great gift to myself from the Beau-Coup site.

Melody-those cookies are way too nice to eat. People must say that to you all the time. Did you dream about piping and icing after that order? Really great job. You rock!
The personalized photo biscotti and rice krispy treats are outrageous! I can’t imagine the effort it takes to make some of these photo treats!
The white icing you put on the cookie before you placed the image was that color flow (Wilton’s) or was it thinned royal icing?
Thanks!
Ingrid
Your cookies are awesome–and I’ll bet they taste as good as they look too!
The Beau-coup site was wonderful–and I’m sure it’s just the “practicallly romantic”

They looked great……I’m in the process of filling a order for a friends upcoming wedding – 300+ cookies. It’s my wedding gift to her to do her wedding favors. I’m not a professional baker but have been doing sugar cookies out of my home for the last three years (friends and family). This is the largest order yet…..any advice?
Hi
You’re cookies are just beautiful. I was wondering, would you charge for 500 cookies?
Also did you have any problems with the edible image puckering around the edges when you put it on the icing? Lucky last question how long before the event did you start to make them? Thanks
[...] These cookies were again made with edible frosting sheets like my last order. You can click here to see the whole process of the last order. [...]
I am interested in doing edible images on cookies. But I am not sure which all in one printer to purchase. One site recommended an Epson CX models????
