The three C’s…cupcakes, cookies, & cake

I hope all of you have a Happy Memorial Day tomorrow!  These last few days have been pretty relaxing…hanging with the family, relaxing at the beach, and eating delicious food!  This upcoming weekend is packed full of fun events so I will make sure document them all so I can share them with you! For now here are some pictures from recent events…enjoy!

This first photo is from a HUGE order I did for the corporate company, Workforce Software.  They were coming to the Long Beach Convention Center for the big payroll association gathering and wanted to celebrate their 10th anniversary with lots of delicious goodies.  They told me they wanted enough to serve around 500 people!!!  Now, I do some larger events, but this one definitely takes the cake!  My new assistant Louisa was there to help me all along the way though and I definitely couldn’t of made it without her!  We made 300 mini cupcakes, 100 logo sugar cookies, and a 200 person cake.  Overall I was really happy with how the order came out and the company was a pleasure to work with!

The cake had all different flavors:  Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, buttermilk cake with lemon cream and fresh raspberries, chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and salted caramel, and chocolate cake with peanut butter cream cheese frosting.

As for cupcakes we did chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and chocolate cupcakes with espresso cream cheese frosting.  We then topped them off with Valrhona chocolate crunchy pearls.  Lastly we did red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

Here’s a couple more photos from the event.

This next order was for a fun client who wanted to surprise his friend with a tiki inspired cake based off of the Disneyland tiki house.  The cake was brown sugar cake with layers of milk chocolate ganache and salted caramel and frosted in chocolate mousse buttercream.  This is the design we came up with for him…

This last order was for a little boy’s county fair themed birthday party…sadly I forgot to take a picture of the cake, but here are the cookies!  We made tickets with his name and age on them, balloons, and ice cream cones.

Thanks for taking a look!

That is spectacular! Must have taken a little while to get all that done! I love the perfect smooth finish on the big cake. Absolutely beautiful. I seem to be going backwards instead of forwards with my decoration, every time I cover a cake it looks worse, huge bubbles and absorbing moisture. Ick.

I was injured about 7 months ago on the job and as time went on I began to reflect a lot on my life and what I really wanted to do. I have always enjoyed baking as a hobby and so started searching for images of beautiful cakes and cupcakes. I was determined to bake a beautiful cake for my aunt for her anniversary.

I’m so glad that I came across your blog because it gave me the inspiration I needed to start becoming more serious about it. I think your blog is amazing! You have an amazing talent and gift. You design such beautiful, unique cakes and cupcakes.

Thank you for giving me the inspiration and excitement to start becoming serious about it too!
