Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! Too much work left me blogless for the week, but I’m back to share a lot of fun photos with you. Over the last few months I have had some amazing experiences with so many talented vendors in the wedding industry and I am so happy to share them with you! This photo shoot was for a top San Diego wedding magazine and I was privileged enough to work with LaVonne from Adorations, who did all the floral designs, Rebecca Gaffney & Mia Saling from Red Letter Days, who designed the second shoot, Kelly Aull from Mint Weddings, was the event coordinator of the hawaiian themed shoot, and Karrie & Elizabeth from Posh Paperie who did the menus & notecards.
The first tablescape was a hawaiian theme and I think it turned out lovely! I decided to to mini cakes for the table and we wanted to match the invitations with the dessert so we printed the pattern on edible frosting sheets. We then covered the mini cakes in fondant and wrapped the cake with the frosting sheets. We piped mini white royal icing dots, added a yellow circle of fondant on top, and finished if off with yellow sugar plumerias. LaVonne came up with the great idea to place the mini cakes in a gorgeous peony…love, love, loved it! Everyone really came together and created a beautiful look!

Now onto the Spanish Flamenco shoot! For this shoot we decided to do a black and white cake with red accents. Sara made a gorgeous sugar red rose and then we made sugar pearls and jewels. The tablescape was simply amazing and was larger than life! Posh Paperie did fabulous job with the menu cards too!

And lastly thanks to one of my best girlfriend’s Karrie…thanks for getting me this fabulous shoot!

Also stay tuned for some exciting news to come!

your blog has been my favorite since I found it about a year ago! Your cakes are so beautiful! I was wondering what you do with your buttercream that it doesn’t bulge when you layer it. It seems to get to soft when I do this. I would love to hear some of your expertise! I live it texas, I wish I could attend some of your cooking classes!!
