I got sweet surprise last week when I received an email from Abby who runs the fabulous wedding blog, Style Me Pretty…guessing most of your have heard about it
Abby asked if I could create a Valentine’s Day cake just for SMP and of course I jumped at the chance! I knew I had to ask Carlie, from Gabriel Ryan Photography, to shoot it for me since I am basically in love with everything she photographs! I also knew I had to have an amazing piece of furniture to display my cakes on so of course I called Jeni, from Found Vintage Rentals,…the best rental company around for those showstopping pieces you have to have! We ladies had a great time putting the shoot together and I loved the outcome!

I absolutely adored Jeni’s furniture piece she brought and the paper flowers she accented it with were fabulous!

For the cakes I thought we would do one of the new techniques we have been trying out at the bakery, which I am in love with…smooth ombre buttercream! I liked combining all the shades of pink and red together and of course we had to throw a golden heart on top!

Then for two of the side cakes we tried a new piping technique and incorporated the ombre shades as well…we added a golden XO and we were all set!

We also made some mini sweet treats for the shoot as well…yummy salted caramel french macarons, heart shaped rice krispy treats, and of course a mini mason jar dessert!

We also threw in this adorable mini rosette cake too…how cute is it!

I definitely recommend checking out Style Me Pretty’s blog post today since we are doing quite a fun giveaway on their site! You not only get a pack of our Valentine’s Day Cake Lollipops from our new site www.sweetandsaucypops.com but you also get a white ruffle hobnail cake stand too, that we will be adding to our supply store www.sweetandsaucysupply.com soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my blog!
