Cakes Galore

Monday, August 20th, 2012

Get ready for a slew of cakes!  I have definitely been behind on my blogging this summer…wedding season, my little blake, and the two bakeries are definitely keeping this mommy busy, but I finally have some posts ready and this first one is filled with lots of special occasion cakes that we have done recently!

I am so blessed to have such a fabulous staff…my cake team of Kyong, Jenna, Irene, and Kasey really make some amazing cakes…at least in my opinion…every week!  And of course they couldn’t do it without my whole team who bakes all the delicious stuff day in and day out!

First up is one of my favorites…how cool is this buttercream space themed cake!

Keeping with the science theme we have a cute birthday cake full of brainiac stuff!

Train cakes are definitely popular among the toddler ages and this one turned out really fun I think!

Another fun tiny train cake…

Cat in the Hat anyone?

This next cake is one of my favorites too.  I think the camera turned out fabulous and the modern design of the cake (the client requested it) turned out great!

Angry birds is also a very popular cake for kids and this one is full of action and movement!

Gotta love this construction cake…

Topsy turvy cakes are a big hit at birthday parties for little ones too and this one is full of bright colors and patterns.

A lot of clients love looking at our previous designed cakes and putting their own spin on them so for this baby shower cake the client wanted to add another tier and then a fun rainbow on top too!

How adorable is this baby shower cake…love the tiny clothes!

Sweet and simply gets me all the time…ruffle buttercream cakes get me every time.

I love this modern twist on a Hello Kitty cake…the strips and large bow are too much fun!

Of course Disney theme cakes get requested a lot too!  This Mickey and Minnie Mouse cake is the perfect accent for any Disney party.

Sprinkles, sprinkles, sprinkles…

Adding course sanding sugar to any buttercream or fondant cake really gives it such a fun sparkle.  This communion cake is sweet and simple, but completely girlie!

Just had to add in these fun sugar cookies…love how the mermaid turned out!  My Aunt Rosie, who works with us is a pro at cookies!

This next cake is such a boy cake…love every aspect of it!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!  Definitely let us know which cake was your favorite!

A Watercolor Wedding Shoot

Monday, August 6th, 2012

Get ready for a eye popping gorgeous explosion of colors!  This fun wedding shoot I got to be a part of is full of bright pops of color and inspired by watercolor paintings & pop art.  Katie from, Bella Destinee,  put together the whole shoot and did such a great job!  Scott Clark Photography took the beautiful photos for the shoot and I have to thank Leila from, Wedding Pr, for bringing me on the team for this shoot!

You can take a look at all the wonderful vendors I got to work with at the end of the post!

The paper design and flowers were just stunning I think…

This might be one of my favorite cakes we have ever made a Sweet & Saucy Shop.  I got inspired by the beautiful watercolor I saw on a wedding dress via pinterest and knew we could make a gorgeous cake from that. I love how the burst of color is at the bottom of the cake and then it goes up to all white at the top.  I decided to do an all white magnolia sugar flower so that it blended in to the top of the cake and kept it modern and clean looking.  Kyong did the lovely watercolor hand painting and I just love how it turned out!

We also were able to do a full watercolor inspired mini dessert bar which included mini cupcakes with mini french macarons, cake lollipops, and shot glass desserts!
