Crew’s Ombre Surf 1st Birthday Party

To start off the New Year right I thought I would blog one of my favorite kid’s parties yet! My sweet friend and photographer Ashley Rose’s little boy, Crew, turned 1 this year and I was lucky enough to be a part of this amazing party! Ashley is a super mom and basically did all of the design, decorating, projects, etc for the whole day!

Some of my best girlfriends Elizabeth and Karrie from Posh Paperie created the fabulous invitations and the Wedding Chicks made these adorable printed bags!

Chocolate milk shot glasses anyone

For Crew’s birthday desserts we went with the ombre blue color scheme and added some surf themed touches to the desserts.

I love this new ombre buttercream technique that we have been doing at the shop and thought it would be perfect for Crew’s cake…it’s modern, clean, and bold. We added a fondant surfboard and some gold fish to the bottom of the cake and voila! Ashley also rented this fab table from Found Vintage Rentals!

We created some ombre blue cake lollipops and added mini shark fins to the tops of them. For the bottom of the dish I thought it would be fun put the gold fish again.

We then did some mini cupcakes, vanilla panna cotta shot glasses tinted blue, and chocolate dipped ombre rice crispy treats!

Scout’s 1st Birthday Party

One thing I love about being in the wedding industry is all the amazing vendors I get to meet and sometimes even share in their families special day as well! These gorgeous photos were taken by the amazing photographer Chenin, from Boutwell Studios! Chenin put on this fabulous rainbow birthday party for her little girl Scout’s 1st birthday! We were lucky enough to be able to do the two cakes for her, but all the rest was Chenin’s magic

We based the cake design off of her invites and I just love how it turned out with the rainbow chevron pattern

We also did a little buttercream smash cake for the birthday girl!

How cute are the other desserts and food that Chenin made…

And of course this might be my favorite shot of the day…too cute!

Big Announcement: Now Shipping Sweet & Saucy Cake Lollipops

One question that my mom and I are always asked by our customers at the bakery and our customers in other states is “When are you going to start shipping your cake lollipops?” Well we listened too all of your thoughts and suggestions and being someone who doesn’t jump into anything without thinking it through and coming up with some cute packaging to go along with it , we decided last year to start the BIG endeavor of shipping desserts across the country and now finally it has come to fruition.

We of course enlisted the help of my talented friend Karrie Pyke, from Karrie Pyke Designs, to come up with package design and then the talented Kristin Eldridge shot some gorgeous photos of our product for us, and lastly my amazing husband Tim, from Skip Agency, brought it all to life through our new website…www.sweetandsaucypops.com!!!

We at Sweet & Saucy Shop couldn’t be happier to announce that you can now purchase our cake lollipops in boxes of 12 or 24 whenever you want, no matter where you are from in the United States. Palm Springs Pool Party Photo Shoot

Have you ever wondered what a laid back, fun wedding in Palm Springs would look like!?! Well look no more…I had the pleasure of working with the team from Jesi Haack Design. Melanie headed it up and I think the shoot turned out fabulous! Make sure and check out the bottom of the post to see all the amazing vendors I worked with on this one! Carlie from Gabriel Ryan Photography took the perfect photos for us…thanks Carlie!

For the cake they wanted something really fun, bold, and different. Melanie threw out the idea of doing something with donuts and then I just ran with that idea. I absolutely love the “ombre” color trend right now so I thought I would tie that into the design too. I bought mini Krispy Kreme donuts and dipped them in different shades of orange icing and then put tiny white sprinkles on top. Overall I was pretty happy with the fun cake!

Carissa’s Space Invader Baby Shower

I am so excited to share this next baby shower with you since it is for one of my sweet wedding girlfriend’s, Carissa of JL Designs! I am beyond happy for Carissa and Brian as they start this next chapter in their lives and to celebrate we did an over-the-top baby shower for them! Carissa is having a little boy and loved the idea of a space invader themed shower so that is just what we gave her. I teamed up with a bunch of my talented wedding friends to put the shower together and you can check them all out at the end of the post!

Up first the dessert bar! We created robot cake pops, cupcakes with robot toppers, “asteroids” (white chocolate dipped donut holes), “flying saucers” (custom sugar cookies), and Kyong did a great Space Invader themed cake.

Isn’t Carissa glowing…

I just love all the details that went into this party…so much fun!

Of course that is me holding baby Maverick (Jesi’s little boy)…every time I see him I can’t help but steal him away.

Custom Kid’s Cakes

Well the kid’s cakes in my iphoto gallery have been stacking up so I thought I would share some recent ones we’ve done with you! Kyong mainly heads up the kid’s cake section and I have to say she does an amazing job bringing the cake designs to life! First up a 1st birthday party for a little rocker boy

Sesame Street and especially Elmo is always popular with the younger crowd!

This was a fun project we did recently for a 1st birthday party. They had a whole dessert bar set up too, but I don’t have those photos yet. We created three baby tigers for them and then a bunch of adorable baby tiger cake lollipops!

Irene is getting flawless at piped buttercream cakes and this next cake is one of my favorites…

This Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake is a great way to pull off the theme on only a one tier cake; simple, but fun!

This carved flamingo cake was a birthday surprise for a client and they loved it…

I just happen to love this next cake Kyong did…Spongebob and his little krabby cakes and french fries have never looked more cute.

This cake had so much detail and took quite a while to make, but I loved the final product!

And lastly the ever popular Toy Story birthday party, but this time the star of the show was Jessi!
