Interesting Custom Cakes

As this year comes to a close I look back on some of the cakes that we’ve made at the bakery and we have had quite the fun requests! Here are some recent cakes…first up a baptism cake that we designed after the little girl’s dress. This was a really time intensive cake, but I loved the end result!

We definitely get our fair share of character themed cakes and this next Hello Kitty one is very sweet & simple!

I adore this little baby that Kyong made…how cute is he!?!

Oh course there is a little Bieber Fever here at the shop as well…

I love getting the chance to do desserts for some of my friends…this next dessert table we put together for Michelle, of MiBelle Photography, little boy’s first birthday. It was right at Halloween time & we had a lot of fun with it! Thanks for the fun photos Michelle!

Last but not least this Sock Monkey stole my heart at first glance…Kyong sculpted this little monkey in the most adorable way!

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! I have l0ts of good posts coming up for you this week, but first I had to share some of the fun costumes my staff put together! I truly have amazing group of ladies working for me and I couldn’t be more blessed!

Later that night I did the pirate look again for my best friend Kate’s party…isn’t she the cutest lady from Mad Men!

Hayley and I both got to go to Palm Springs this weekend with our hubbies for the amazing party that The Flash Dance & Bash Please put on at the Ace Hotel! Amelia Lyon will have more amazing photos soon, but I just had to share a couple sneak peaks that I took!

And of course we had to be matching 1920’s flapper girls!

The Ace Hotel

I had the pleasure of being a guest at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs this last summer for my good friend’s Molly & Donovan’s wedding at the O’Donnell Golf Club! The whole weekend was tons of fun and a weekend that I’ll remember for a long time! My husband was in the wedding and my good girlfriend’s Ashlyn and Heather from Carter & Cook Event Co did the wedding planning and design. The lovely Windy Dougall shot the gorgeous photos and The Floral Lab did an amazing job with the flowers! I was especially in love with Molly’s bouquet! This wedding was lucky enough to be featured on Style Me Pretty today as well, so make sure and check it out to see all the fun details!

The Dear Darling made the most adorable table numbers and dessert tags!

For the desserts we kept it casual fun with lots of yummy mini cupcakes and a two tier rustic cream cheese frosting style cake with a fresh succulent flower!

Molly and Donovan danced it up all night long and it turned out to be quite the night! Here are two fun pictures I took! Loved having such a great time with some of my best girlfriends and of course my hubby!

Like I said at the beginning, I was lucky enough to get to stay at the Ace Hotel this past summer and I am SOOO excited again to go back at the end of October for a big Halloween Bash I am going to be a part of. This event is going to be so much fun!!! It’s all being put on by some of the top wedding professionals and your invited to come join us! Halloween Photos: Part II

I hope all of you had a Happy Halloween! I had way too many cute photos of my family that I thought I had to share them with you! Plus I got the chance to make a fun 3D Pumpkin cake for a client of mine. Her daughter was turning 4 years old and she wanted a fun cake that pulled in both occasions!

The cake was quite yummy inside! The bottom tier was chocolate cake with whipped cream, strawberries & chocolate ganache. The middle tier was pumpkin cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting & salted caramel. And lastly the top tier was banana cake with chocolate ganache and peanut butter cream cheese frosting.

I hand sculpted each pumpkin and then airbrushed them to make them look more realistic. Next I stacked them and created lots of vines and stems to fill in the gaps. Here are some more close-ups of the cake…unfortunately I didn’t realize they weren’t in perfect focus under I was done with the cake, but at least they show you more details.

Aren’t they too cute for words! Well, those aren’t the only Halloween photos I have for you…I just had to include these next few photos. All I have to say is “How awesome is my staff!!!” Now sadly, I had a wedding delivery that day and couldn’t dress up or else I would’ve strapped the pirate belt on and jumped in the photo!

I think we can all agree that Octo-mom gets the best costume award! Can you believe how great Louisa looks!

And even my intern dressed up…as a chef of course!

Trick or Treat! It’s Halloween Time!

Well, I thought I would quick try to get out a little post on some yummy treats that might inspire you for Halloween! I meant to try and create some new cupcakes for this Halloween, but sadly all of my time got zapped up and so I thought I would show last year’s cupcakes along with some new sugar cookies. Hope you enjoy!

We just started featuring some new fall treats as well! The Pumpkin Cupcake with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting and Salted Caramel is to-die-for it I do say so myself! Way too tempting for me to look at everyday!

And of course we had to make Pumpkin Cake Lollipops! We can even drizzle them for you with Halloween colors on request!
