New Wedding Cake Designs

Friday, November 4th, 2011

I thought I would share some new cake designs we’ve done lately!  Up first one of my favorites from this last summer.  A peacock feather bohemian style head piece inspired the cake design.  We made the cake head piece all out of sugar and then did a white on white pattern for the base of the cake to give it some texture.

I just love the color palette for this cake.

Up next an example of a romantic wedding cake with touches of blush pink and white sugar roses cascading up the front.

This cake is definitely more modern with a bold color and pattern on the base tier and then a sugar peony we colored silver.

This is one of my favorite all white on white wedding cakes…it’s so delicate and romantic looking!

This next cake was inspired by a cake design from The Caketress that one of my clients loved and then we put our own spin on it to incorporate her wedding style and design.

Last but not least a sampling of cakes to mimic the iconic “Cakes” painting by Wayne Thiebaud.  Irene did a great job with all of these cakes and the client loved them!

Wedding Cake Time!

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

Thanks so much for your sweet comments from our last wedding cake post!  I am excited to share some new designs with you today as well!

This first cake design I got inspired to create based off a intricate print.  I loved how the bride & groom silhouettes were surrounded by words that described marriage & their relationship.  I also love the color scheme of blush pink and grey…overall I was quite happy with it!

Kyong did a great joy hand painting all the details on this cake…it definitely was a labor of love!

These next three cakes were all for one wedding.  The bride couldn’t make up her mind about just one design, so instead we did three completely different techniques on three different cakes for her, while keeping with her same color scheme.

Kyong hand painted these gorgeous, delicate branches & added two fondant love birds.  The design matched the bride & groom’s invitation.

Up next was a simplistic two tier wedding cake we did for a modern Hawaiian style wedding.  I loved the texture on the cake with the pearlized finish and then we simply accented it with multiple burnt orange sugar flower dahlias.

The bride wanted lots and lots of gold and that’s what we gave her!  We also incorporated a touch of brown & then a deep red in the garden rose sugar flower.

This next cake is a great example of an inexpensive cake that still looks gorgeous…I love the mixture of rustic, yet elegant!

My idea of an all-white wedding cake…lots of detail & texture, but still simplistic & modern.

Pinwheels, kites, & balloons!

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

I am absolutely so lucky to get to work with so many talented people all the time!  This wedding was a dream come true and you’ll see why when you look at the amazing photos that Ashley Rose took!  My fabulous friend Jesi Haack from Jesi Haack Weddings was the genius behind it!  This was the wedding she talked to me about for month and months, saying that she was SO excited for it and now I can see why.  The couple, Lauren & Jeff, were amazing and really let Jesi do her magic!  Carissa, from JL Designs, blew me away with her floral design as always & my girls at Posh Paperie, Karrie & Elizabeth, designed the most adorable invitations ever!

For the dessert table we just wanted to make it bright, whimsy, & lots of fun!  The backdrop that Jesi created for us definitely helped pull it all together!  Hayley & Nate set it all up & I think they did a fabulous job!
