Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine: Leila & Tony’s Wedding

Friday, February 8th, 2013

I have been wanting to share this for some time now since the magazine has been out for a while now, but here is it…

A couple years back I had the pleasure of doing the cakes for Leila & Tony’s wedding and I have to say it was a stunning day!  The whole wedding was featured in the Spring 2012 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine.  Leila is the head of Be Inspired PR and it was my pleasure to be a part of her wedding day!

Leila wanted six cakes, all with different textures in buttercream and fondant and then Carissa, from JL Designs added fresh florals & figs to the cakes!  I absolutely adore the set up of the cakes!

Mr. Haack Turns 30!!!

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

I absolutely love the true life long friends I have made since starting in the wedding industry!  I have to say the Haack’s are some of the best people around and I was so blessed to be able to be a part of the surprise 30th birthday party for Ryan!  His wife Jesi Haack, the amazing wedding designer, threw a killer party for him complete with every manly detail you could ask for! Thanks to Aaron Young for the fab photos as always!

I love when I get to pull out the clear plexi stands as they have a fun look that no other stands can create I feel!

S’mores cupcake…oh so good!

The surprise reaction was SO good!

Style Me Pretty Book

Saturday, December 22nd, 2012

Well I have been waiting for this day for a while…Style Me Pretty’s new book just came out on Decemeber 18th and I couldn’t be more overjoyed!  Last year Abby asked if I could be the contributing cake designer for the whole book and of course I said yes after pinching myself a million times!  I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Jose Villa, Lisa Vorce, Kate Holdt, and Rebecca Schmidt Ruebensaal on the books six styled photo shoots and I have to say they turned out pretty amazing!  Below is one peek from a shoot we did with them that was a bonus chapter that Abby recently featured on her blog!  You can buy the book at any major bookstore or online through Amazon.

I have to say this might be one of my favorite cakes!  I have fallen in love with gold this past year and I love to add it to anything and everything when it comes to cake and desserts!  I love simplicity as well and I think that is cake is very simple, yet just my style!

From the paintings to the gold encrusted silverware…I am in love with everything!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will definitely be posting more about the features we have in the book coming up soon!

Anthropologie + Oh Joy

Thursday, September 13th, 2012

If you would of asked me a couple years back if I ever thought I would be doing desserts for Anthropologie and Oh Joy I would’ve said “No way”…well guess what?!?  I was lucky enough to be a part of such a fun event that was held at Anthropologie and you bet I was smiling all night long!  Joy, from Oh Joy, was the main attraction for their new line of Petite clothing and it was so fun finally getting to meet her in person!

The lovely Bonnie Tsang took that fabulous photo of Joy…love her work!  The event was such a success and for anyone that knows me I am obsessed with Anthropologie and shop there now-stop, so you know I enjoyed every minute!

I can’t thank Kristin, from Kristin Eldridge Photography, enough for these gorgeous photos of my desserts!  She seriously always blows me away when she photographs my stuff…love every photo!

For the desserts we decided to do some crowd pleasers and set them out on some of my favorite stands…vintage peach & clear glass, jadeite and milk stands!  First up always a popular one the mini key lime pies!

Mini cheesecakes with fresh raspberries and salted caramel french macarons.

Strawberry french macarons…

Our decadent brownies cut into triangles for a fun presentation.

Our #1 selling cupcake in Newport Beach…S’mores!

We had such a great time at this event!  Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!

Finn & Scarlett’s Circus Soiree

Monday, April 30th, 2012

I think this first photo describes exactly how I feel about this birthday party!  I really am so blown away every time one of my favorite customers, Sarah, throws a birthday party for her children.  She has such a gift for party planning and crafting that it should be her full time job!  All of the amazing details she dreamt up below for her son Finn and daughter Scarlett’s birthday party will for sure knock your socks off…enjoy!

And not only is she talented, but I have to say this is one of the cutest little families I’ve EVER seen!

How fun are all of these game stations she created…

And of course you have to have gold fish for the winners!

I think every child should have a picture on a pony…I remember always loving looking at my photo of myself riding on a pony…too much fun!

Sarah basically dreamt up the dessert station and cakes all herself and just placed the order with us :)  I love the rentals that she chose to rent from us…the tin ones are new that we got in and I think they fit perfectly with this party!  The other two stands I made from spray painted candle sticks and flea market antique plates.

The ticket three tier cake is such a great idea!

Of coures little Scarlett needed a pretty ballerina cake!

Thanks so much Sarah, Finn, Scarlett, and Brennan for letting us be a part of such a special day!
