Woodland Themed 1st Birthday Party

I love when I get to work with creative clients! Sarah is a perfect example of a client that just blows my mind and gets me so excited about making desserts! She wanted to make her son, Finn’s, 1st birthday party fabulous and boy did she! She made all the design pieces herself and truly amazed me with her creativity and talent…can you say future party planner or what!?!?

Sarah wanted to create a “Woodland” style look for the party and so we made the desserts accordingly. Sarah not only did all the decorating for the party, but she even made some of the desserts too! This is seriously one of the cutest kid’s birthday parties I have ever seen and I was so blessed to be a part of it! Thanks Sarah! And here is the amazing little family!

For the desserts we made owl cookies, mini key lime pies, mini candy bar cupcakes, rustic pies and other tasty treats! Sarah wanted us to recreate a little deer for the cupcake that matched the one on her invitations and I have to say it turned out adorable!

Lots of New Weddings

We have been busy bees over at the shop these last few months and that means lots of WEDDINGS! Here are a couple lovely weddings that we have had the pleasure of working on! This first wedding at Rancho Las Lomas was for the sweetest couple and I loved that they sent photos back to me so I could see them enjoying the desserts!

We made the custom cake stand and backdrop for the couple. They wanted to incorporate a rustic and earthy touch to the table, but still wanted it to look elegant. They decided to do a two tier cake and then cupcakes, so guests could choose which one they wanted.

This next wedding I had the pleasure of working with Carissa from JL Designs & Christina from Simply Modern Weddings. We ended up doing a small cake that pulled in design from their invitation and then a variety of mini desserts. Christina & Carissa definitely pulled off a gorgeous wedding with lovely details!

So blessed to work with you ladies! Here is one more fun wedding cake I was able to do recently for a sweet couple. They wanted to incorporate color onto the cake, so we did a butter yellow base with dark grey lace accents and a purple sugar flower accent.

I recently had the pleasure of working with my friends Ashlyn & Heather from Carter & Cook Event Co. on a photoshoot for Exquisite Wedddings Magazine. They are an amazing design team and I knew the photoshoot would turn out gorgeous. You can check out their blog to read about all the details of the shoot, but here are some photos!

Recent Treats!

Well, exciting things have been happening! One in particular is that my husband and I just bought a house! I can’t believe it actually happened and as I sit here in my house blogging away I have to pinch myself! I am definitely blessed and so happy in my new home! Photos will soon to follow once the decorating is finished!

We have been very busy at the shop too, so I thought I would do a post with lots of recent projects we’ve been doing! Hope you enjoy! First up, are these adorable Twilight cupcakes! I have been so lucky to have very talented interns at my shop and one intern, Kyong, has blown me away many times with her attention to detail and creativity. She made all the decorations for these cupcakes and I thought they turned out great!

The apple is just AMAZING!

Another batch of fun cupcakes that my staff made were for a sea themed birthday party. I loved how they turned out!

We have also been doing some fun cakes as well…this one was for a sassy 60th birthday party!

This one was for a small rustic style wedding.

We had the chance to do another castle cake, but this time with a Hello Kitty theme!

I also love this next small two tier wedding cake with mini cupcakes! We made sugar butterflies and billy ball flowers.

And lastly here is another two tier wedding cake. For this one we did a pink garden rose with gold painted tips and then did gold lace and black accents.

More Valentine’s Day Treats: JL Designs + Sweet & Saucy Shop

The pop-up shop that Carissa, of JL Designs, and I did at my shop this past Christmas was such a success that we decided to offer it to our customers for Valentine’s Day too! When Carissa posted her Valentine’s Day florals to say I was blown away would be an understatement! She is beyond talented and I truly think that if you want to give that special someone in your life a heartfelt gift what could be better than gorgeous flowers that fit their style and personality plus some delicious treats too! So here are the details! Hope to see all of you this weekend!

when: friday february 12 and saturday february 13

where: sweet and saucy shop – 6400 stearns street, long beach

what: a variety of couture floral pieces, ranging anywhere from $20-$100

why: because you’re a last minute shopper and we are trying to make this easy on you…flowers AND sweet treats in one blow – come one!! it’s dummy proof!

we are taking custom orders that will be available for pickup at sweet and saucy on friday and saturday…so if you wanna save on delivery, you can still order anything in the collection and then come get it yourself…OR you can just be surprised at what’s in the shop…we will be creating some signature pieces at a lower price point along with our couture collection…you know, just for variety’s sake

so there will be something for everyone!

but whether you want to pick up your arrangement OR you want us to deliver to your sweetie, either way

ALL CUSTOM ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY 5:00PM ON THURSDAY FEBRUARY 11TH…

otherwise, you can feel free to browse the pieces at sweet and saucy on friday and saturday…but word to the wise, it’s first come first serve so to get a wide range of options, i wouldn’t lolligag!!!

Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies

Of course I wanted to get these photos up sooner, but the shop has been quite busy this week, so I’m squeezing them in right now! Before I show off the yummy sugar cookies I thought I would give you a sneak peak of the gorgeous photos that Sarah K Chen captured last week at her Blush Boudoir shoot that Linda Ly, from Grand Soriees, styled. They asked me if I would like to send some sexy treats along with them and of course I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Here are just two photos from the shoot, but definitely check out her blog for more gorgeous photos!

Aren’t they dreamy! So with Valentine’s Day right around the corner what wouldn’t be better to give that special someone than a delicious cookie with a love message…here are some of my favorites!

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes

Well it’s that time of year! Love is in the air and here at Sweet & Saucy Shop we are trying to help you show that love to those around you with some yummy treats that will put a smile on their face! I had a lot of fun creating some new looks for Valentine Day treats and am excited to share them with you.

First up custom designed cupcakes. We are selling the jewel accent cupcakes in packs of two for $8, packs of 4 for $16, packs of 6 for $24, and packs of 12 for $48. The sugar flower cupcakes are $10 each.
