Listen up men! We’re about to reveal how to earn some serious brownie points with your wife.  Let’s get real though, your husband is most likely not reading this… and in order to get the gift you really want from him, you’re going to need to “hint” at it, or basically just straight out tell him.   If you’re a mama with a sweet tooth, or know a mom who can’t get enough sweet treats,  we have some old favorites as well as some newer menu items that would be perfect for any loving mother in your life.  Don’t be afraid to treat yourself, either!  (All pricing info will be listed at the bottom of this post.)

First up on our list: this vibrant, swoon-worthy cake with gorgeous hand piped florals by our head buttercream decorator, Frances.  You simply can’t go wrong with this cake, and it conveniently comes in three different sizes for any size get-together.

Layered cake in a jar is always super popular around the holidays! It’s the only time you can really buy them individually without pre-ordering a batch.  They sell out quickly at our front counter, so if you aren’t adding them to your order, be sure to arrive early to get yours! Flavors shown here are chocolate salted caramel and funfetti.

Utterly Engaged Party

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Well I am finally breaking my blogging drought!  I can’t believe how busy I have been lately!  The shop keeps growing and growing and more fun opportunities keep coming my way, which is so amazing, but leaves me with little time to do anything else but work. Thankfully my wonderful new assistant, Hayley, is going to start blogging for me too, so then I’ll be able to share more fun photos with you!

This blog post is completely dedicated to the lovely women over at Utterly Engaged! They threw an AMAZING party a couple months ago and I had the pleasure of being a part of a wonderful team that designed a table for the event.  There are so many fun details to this table that I thought I would send you over to the wonderful blogs of two of the talented ladies that I worked with…Nancy from, So Happi Together, and Megan, from Mae Mae Paperie!  Nancy & Megan came up with the whole fun concept behind the table and this is how Megan described it…

“The requirements were to take our own twist on a modern tablescape. We created a “brand” for the wedding which was “Love. It’s the big idea” and the logo was a light bulb with a heart inside. The couple was a pastry chef + an engineer, Polly + Edison. Mel crafted cookies and the decorations for the cake from my illustrations. You haven’t lived until you eat something with your design on it. My favorite element was all the paper we used in place of traditional elements. The table runner was paper and the place mats were also paper. The two place mats also acted as escort cards with the names on the top.”

Megan also took some wonderful photos as well, so here they are!

I have to say I was blown away with Megan’s designs and knew I had to incorporate them into my desserts somehow…that is why I used edible images to print her designs out.  Nancy had a great vision for the whole tablescape and Mille Fiore did an amazing job with the florals! So here are the rest of the photos that the fabulous Jasmine Star took for us!!!

I also made some mini cupcakes with the images and sugar cookies as well!

I had a chance to snap a few photos myself, so here they are!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I promise to have more posts soon!!!
