Decker’s 1st Birthday Party

Thursday, September 5th, 2013

So sorry for the delay in blogging!  Life has been super busy, crazy, and exciting for us over at Sweet & Saucy Shop since we just relocated our original bakery in LB to a bigger location this past month (more to come in another post) so I haven’t had too much time to blog, but I’m back!

It’s a good thing I’m back too since this adorable birthday party was last year and I am just now getting to share it.  Decker is my sweet friend Carissa’s, from JL Design’s, handsome little boy and she threw him the best construction themed birthday party ever!  You can check out all the vendors over at Inspired By This!

She threw together the party in like a week and I literally couldn’t believe my eyes when I got there and saw everything she had done!  Wonderwoman!

Oh course we had to be at the party and as you can tell little Blake was quite a lot younger back then haha! Time sure does fly!

The food was amazing and I loved how it was all packaged!

Future boyfriend girlfriend action going on!  Recently we were on a playdate with them and got them to kiss…too cute!

My little family…

I had so much fun putting together the desserts for this party!  Loved using our new tin cake stands too…perfect for a boys birthday party.

We made hard hat cake lollipops and fresh cement vanilla panna cotta!

Chocolate dirt mousse shot glasses were yummy too!

For the cake we kept is simple and did a rustic chocolate frosted cake and then placed a big dump truck on top!

I will never get tired of seeing little kids smash their face into our cakes!  Decker did great!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog and more posts to come soon!

Christmas Time @ Sweet & Saucy Shop

Tuesday, December 4th, 2012

Well time sure does fly when you are busy with two shops and have a new baby!  I really can’t believe it is Christmas time already, but I have to say that I am thrilled!  I absolutely love this time of year for so many reasons and I am thrilled to share it with my little Blake this year! Our team at Sweet & Saucy Shop have had some fun coming up with some new (and of course some tried and true) holiday desserts and we hope you love them as much as we do!  All prices will be up on the website and of course you can always call, email, pop into the shop to place your order for holiday treats! First up my favorite…gold sugar and mini gingerbread men!

I always love me some good character pops!

I am definitely into washi tape this year and love adding it to anything for an extra pop of color!

Christmas sugar cookies and mason jar desserts are always popular among our clients!

We love our new macaron boxes!  We have both sizes in kraft and red and you pick what kind of washi tape you want to add to it!  The large fits 8-9 macarons and the same 4-5 macarons.

Some new delicious macaron flavors have been coming out of Sweet & Saucy thanks to Jess!  The flavors we have daily (until they get sold out) are Mexian Hot Chocolate, Pistachio, Salted Caramel, Eggnog, and White Chocolate Peppermint!

We can add these cute fondant accents to the mini or regular size cupcakes for you!

We also have gift baskets we can fill macarons, peppermint brownies, sugar cookies, cake pops, and everything else you love of ours!  We can ship baskets too

We are so excited to also be a part of a fun pop up shop this weekend in Santa Ana so if you are in the area definitely stop by as some of the top socal wedding vendors will be making and selling Christmas stuff!  Here is a sneak peek at an adorable new product we will be selling at both bakeries and the pop up shop…Santa & his sleigh of cake pops!

**All pricing is on the website…check it out here!

Jesi’s Baby Shower…Her Favorite Work of Art

Monday, March 12th, 2012

Hopefully you haven’t gotten tired of my baby shower posts yet because this is quite the cute one!  One of my best girlfriends, Jesi from Jesi Haack Design, just had her third little one and this time she had an adorable little girl…River June!  I am so excited for little Blake and River to become best of friends!

I had the joy of hosting Jesi’s baby shower for little River at my house along with the help of Carissa, from JL Designs who did all the florals and yarn backdrop, Carlie from Gabriel Ryan Photography who took the fabulous photos and also crafted up a ton of yarn goodies, Amber from Pitbulls & Posies did the most amazing invitations and paper design, and Courtney from Joyful Joyful who also helped us craft too!

All of us girls loved the saying “You’re my favorite work of art” and we thought it was a perfect theme for Jesi’s shower since she is the ultimate wedding designer and crafter extraordinaire :)  We loved the idea of using yarn throughout the shower and I have to say I think it turned out pretty darn cute!

We had a craft all set to go, but to be honest we skipped it in the end because all of us ladies were too lazy to do it :)

For the dessert bar and cake I definitely wanted to stick to the color scheme and incorporate the yarn!  We did a amber/yellow ombre buttercream cake and then accented it with yarn balls that Carlie made for me.

Our mini mason jar desserts have been a big crowd pleaser at parties and weddings recently so I thought I would do them again and just attach the spoons with yarn.

For the mini red velvet cupcakes we added a tiny purple fondant yarn knot to them for a fun accent.

Monopoly Themed 1st Birthday Party

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

I had the pleasure of being a part of Jina Park, from Plush Little Baby, little son Brendan’s 1st birthday party!  Jina pulled out all the stops to make Brendan’s birthday party one to remember!  Vanessa from Alchemy Events came alongside Jina and helped her pull off this special day.  The party theme was all around the Monopoly game and I have to say that they didn’t leave any detail undone.  The special day was held at the London Hotel in West Hollywood and I was so excited to see the gorgeous photos of how the whole day came together!  Corbin of Corbin Gurkin Photography captured the day perfectly!

I was so in awe when I first saw the photos from this wedding that I got to be a part of over on Ruffled’s Blog…the photos that Kelty from Steep Street took were simply gorgeous!  I also love getting to work with Nozza Studios whenever I get a chance; they did a wonderful job pulling the entire design together.

Saddlerock Ranch Wedding

Friday, February 10th, 2012

I am so excited to share this absolutely GORGEOUS wedding we were lucky enough to be a part of!  It was just featured on Style Me Pretty and they described all the details of the wedding perfectly…

“Vibrant doesn’t even begin to describe this cultural beauty crafted by Events of Love and Splendor and captured by The Image is Found! Oh no, this fête would need a completely new adjective for all of us to fully grasp the lovely that is this behind the take.your.breath.away details and florals whipped up by R. Jack Balthazar. And I haven’t even mentioned the masterpiece by the cake queens at the Sweet and Saucy Shop – it’s pin-worthy perfection. The entire affair is completely stop and gawk gorgeous. So stop and gawk I shall, maybe for an embarrassing amount of time, because a wedding this new adjective worthy doesn’t come around every day.”
