First off I do have to say sorry to my loyal visitors for my temporary absence this past week…BUT get ready for a lot of posts this week!!! I had my busiest week ever for my little company, Sweet & Saucy, and literally worked 16 hour days every day and ended off the week with a 20 hour work day two days before one of my best friend’s weddings (If you do the math…yes, I only got 4 hours of sleep!). All of that being said I had an amazing time at their wedding and had the privilege of making their cake and cookies and even being a bridesmaid. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend trying to do both, but in the end it was all worth it! Here are some of my favorite photos from the wedding. For those of you who don’t know, I got the silhouette cookie cutters custom made to fit their profile from The Victor Trading Company. This company did an amazing job with the cutters and the end result was more than I could have asked for. The wedding theme was “Silhouettes” and my friend Karrie (the bride), who is a graphic designer too, made the theme carry through the whole wedding seamlessly…she even had the lady from Disneyland who cuts silhouettes come and cut the each guest’s silhouette! Their wedding photographer, Amy Squires, from WeddingChicks.com was absolutely amazing!!! I highly recommend her to any new bride looking for a fantastic photographer. I was also lucky enough to have a couple shots she took of my desserts and of the gorgeous bride and groom. Now I know most bloggers don’t like showing personal photos on their site, but I just can’t help sharing my joy with you all, so I hope you enjoy these photos!
The cake was two different flavors: chocolate cake with chocolate mousse buttercream and strawberries AND coconut cake with lemon cream filling and coconut cream cheese frosting! The middle tier is so tall because it is two normal size cakes stacked on top of each other with supports in between. Lastly, I covered the whole cake in swiss meringue buttercream and piped tiny white dots onto it. I lined each layer with gray ribbon and her wonderful florist added the flowers.
Congratulations to the bride & groom!
